Jacob "Jake" Jabs

Perhaps best known for his American Furniture Warehouse commercials, Jake Jabs is president and CEO of one of the top furniture companies in the United States and the largest privately held business in Colorado. Jabs’ first serious venture into the furniture business came in 1968 when he opened Mediterranean Galleries, a high-end furniture story with locations in Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Billings, Mont. In 1975, after closing Mediterranean Galleries, Jabs purchased the struggling one-location American Furniture Company. Now known as American Furniture Warehouse, the company expanded 12 locations across the Front Range and in Glenwood Springs. Over the years, Jabs and his employees have contributed time and resources to thousands of charities, including more than $2 million in contributions each year.
