Robin Wise is the President and CEO of Junior Achievement - Rocky Mountain, Inc. In her role, she provides vision, leadership and direction for the largest economic education organization in the region; bringing three vital pillars of student success to education—financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship. During Robin's 18 year tenure as President and CEO of JA, the organization has grown more than tenfold - from reaching just 8,000 students in the 1990-91 school year to reaching 95,000 students in the 2009-10 school year, making Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain Inc. the 13th largest JA operation in the nation. Robin directs the implementation of JA's innovative, hands-on K-12 programs, which bring more than 3,200 business volunteers into classrooms throughout metro Denver, Northern Colorado and Wyoming each year. Under her leadership, Junior Achievement has received many honors. In 2008, JA – Rocky Mountain was named the Top Company of the Year (non-profit), by ColoradoBiz Magazine, and has been awarded JA's "Peak Performance" Team Award six years in a row, a best in class award recognizing superior annual performance by a local area staff team. In 2001, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce named JA – Rocky Mountain Non-Profit of the Year. In 2007, the Denver Business Journal named Robin "Outstanding Woman in Business " for the non-profit sector, and included her in their 2008 annual Power Book. In 2006, Robin won the prestigious "Charles R. Hook" award, which recognizes outstanding leadership in the growth and development of a JA area, and in 2003 was named a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts-Mile-Hi Council. Robin has more than 25 years of experience in leadership and management at major corporations and non-profit organizations. She came to the non-profit sector from the oil and gas industry, where she served as Director of Marketing for Northern Natural Gas. After moving to Denver in 1986, she served as Vice President of Membership and Resource Development at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce for five years, where she co-founded the Colorado Business Hall of Fame with Junior Achievement, and developed the Chamber's first ever Business Expo. Robin is a member of the Denver Rotary Club and active in the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Wise has also been a delegate on Colorado Gubernatorial trade missions to Great Britain, South America, and the Czech Republic, is a Commissioner for the Colorado Lottery , serves on Colorado’s Workforce Development Council , and is also a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council for the UNC Monfort College of Business . Robin is an avid golfer and currently serves as a Trustee and treasurer for the Colorado Open Foundation . Robin earned a BS in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Nebraska - Omaha. She lives in Denver with her husband, Steve, and two sons. |
