Robin Wise is the President and CEO of Junior Achievement, Rocky Mountain Inc. In her role, she provides vision, leadership and direction for the organization, which has evolved into largest economic education organization in the Front Range. During Robin's 16 year tenure as President and CEO of JA, the organization has grown tenfold - from reaching just 8,000 students in the 1990-91 school year to reaching 88,000 students in the 2006-07 school year, making Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain Inc. the 13th largest JA operation in the nation. Robin directs the implementation of JA's innovative, hands-on K-12 programs, which bring more than 3,000 business volunteers into classrooms throughout metro Denver, Northern Colorado and Wyoming each year.
Under her leadership, Junior Achievement has received many honors, including the MetLife Entrepreneurial Achievement Award in both 2004 and 2006 and the 2001 Non-Profit of the Year award by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. JA Rocky Mountain has been awarded JA's "Peak Performance" Team Award five years in a row, a best in class award recognizing superior annual performance by a local area staff team. In 2003, Robin was named a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts-Mile-Hi Council, was included in the list of Who's Who in Business and served as a delegate on Colorado Governor Owen's trade missions to Great Britain, South America, and the Czech Republic in 2004-06. In 2006, Robin won the prestigious "Charles R. Hook" award, which recognizes outstanding leadership in the growth and development of a JA area. In 2007, the Denver Business Journal named Robin "Outstanding Woman in Business" for the non-profit sector, and included her as a finalist in their annual Power Book. JA was honored by the Colorado Association of Partners in Education as the 2007 Colorado Outstanding Business Volunteer organization for Congressional District 6. JA is currently a finalist for the 2007 Samaritan Institute Award by the Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance.
Robin has more than 25 years of experience in leadership and management at major corporations and non-profit organizations. She came to the non-profit sector from the oil and gas industry, where she served as Director of Marketing for Northern Natural Gas. After moving to Denver in 1986, she served as Vice President of Membership and Resource Development at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce for five years, where she co-founded the Colorado Business Hall of Fame with Junior Achievement, and developed the Chamber's first ever Business Expo.
Robin is a member of the Denver Rotary Club and active in the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. She serves on several JA Worldwide committees and is a past board member for both the Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation and the Colorado Women's Sports Association. Robin was recently elected Vice Chair of the Colorado Lottery and appointed by the Governor to both the Workforce Development and the Consumer Credit Code Councils. She also serves as a member of the Dean's Leadership Council for the University of Northern Colorado, Monfort College of Business, and is a board member and officer for Colorado Jump Start Coalition.
Robin is an avid golfer and served as a Marshall during the 2006 U.S. Women's Open. She currently serves as a Board of Trustee for the Colorado Open Foundation. Robin earned a BS in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Nebraska - Omaha. She lives in Denver with her husband, Steve, and two sons.
