JA's Our City (3rd Grade)

JA's Our City studies careers, the skills people need to work in specific careers, and how businesses contribute to a city.

JA's Our City test asks students about components to make up a city including: zoning, planning, and construction. Students need to define what a consumer is. Students are also asked to know what should be in a newspaper article.

On average, after JA students have the JA Our City experience, they improved their scores by 13%. The complete report is available here.



JA's Our Region (4th Grade)

JA's Our Region introduces the relationship between the natural, human and capital resources found in different regions, and explores regional businesses that produce goods or services for consumers.

JA's Our Region test asks students what a resource is , and the different kind of resources (human, capital and natural). They are also asked about income, business, and profit and loss.

On average, after students have the JA Our Region experience, they improved their scores by 22%. The complete report is available here.



JA's Our Nation (5th Grade)

JA's Our Nation examines how businesses operate in the United States. Students role-play business-ownership, interview for jobs, and learn different methods of production while exploring various economic issues that affect business.

JA's Our Nation test asks students about the three different types of resources (natural, human and capital). They are asked to define global competition and how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) will impact our future workforce. Students also name workforce skills that are in demand by employers. The students are expected to know about the information a resume should include.

On average, after students have the JA Our Nation experience, they improved their scored by 21%. The complete report is available here.
