Day 2…JA Business Week

The morning session brought the return of Gregg Vanourek, author of Life Entrepreneurs, back to campus to present to the students.  Gregg impressed upon the students the importance of living an extraordinary life.  He encouraged the students to have a vision for their life and to be willing to fight for that vision.

First year students spent the beginning of the afternoon participating in the Ethic Challenge, lead by JA Board Member and owner of Confluce Builders, Tim Walsh.   The Ethics Challenge gave the students an opportunity to explore ethical issues, come up with a definition of ethics and interact with community volunteers.  Groups of five students were lead in discussions by volunteers about different situations and how they would handle those situation ethically.  One of the student groups came up with a great way to handle ethical situations with others, STAR.  State the problem, Tell them why it’s a problem, Add expectations, Reach resolution.  It was a great session and the students really seemed to start to understand how difficult ethical decisions could be and how important they are in both your personal and professional life.
