Congratulations JA Board Member, Greg Anton

We are honored to announce JA Board Member Greg Anton, Anton Collins Mitchell LLP (ACM) founding partner, has been nominated to serve as Vice Chair of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Board of Directors, beginning in October 2010.  Previously, Greg served on the AICPA’s governing Council (2003 – 2009), including a three-year term on the Board of Directors (2006 – 2009) and chairmanship of its Finance Committee (2009).

Greg is slated to become Chair of the AICPA Board for a one-year term in October 2011. This chief volunteer position for the national organization of CPAs continues a career of dedication to clients, the community, and the accounting profession.

The AICPA is the national, professional organization for Certified Public Accountants with approximately 360,000 members. Its mission is to provide members with the resources, information, and leadership that enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner to benefit the public as well as employers and clients. In fulfilling its mission, the AICPA works with state CPA organizations and gives priority to those areas where public reliance on CPA skills is most significant. (www.aicpa.org)

A dedicated and passionate volunteer, Greg believes involvement in professional and community organizations provides opportunities to learn, share ideas, experience personal growth, and to enrich the lives of others. This belief is also demonstrated through his commitment to the clients ACM serves – and to the firm itself.   As he begins his second term on the AICPA Board, Greg continues his commitment to integrating volunteer service into his life, just as he has with his many work and personal pursuits. “I plan to continue providing a high level of service to ACM and the firm’s clients, as well as riding my mountain bike, skiing, boating, and fishing with my family and friends, just as I do now. The big difference will be in the number of stories I’ll have to share!”

Greg’s past professional activities include service on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Society of CPAs (CSCPA), including service as Chair of the Board (2004 – 2005) during the centennial year for the Colorado accounting profession, and service as Co-Chair of the Centennial Scholarship Campaign of the Educational Foundation of the CSCPA which raised over $1 million for accounting scholarships.
