kigo footwear December Gratitude & Giving Program Supports JA

kigo footwear, minimalist shoes for the barefoot lifestyle, is celebrating the 2012 holiday season focused on gratitude and giving. During the months of November and December, the company is donating a portion of all online sales to a nonprofit that is making a difference through its efforts to keep people healthy and empowered.

Between December 3 and 21, 20% of every purchase made at kigofootwear.com will be given to select offices of Junior Achievement to support their efforts to prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. One of the regional organizations supported in the December Gratitude and Giving program is Junior Achievement–Rocky Mountain.

“As entrepreneurs who have personally volunteered for JA in the classroom and witnessed the impact JA programs have had on their own children, the kigo co-founders believe strongly in business education through experience and are proud to partner with Junior Achievement in providing hands-on learning opportunities to youth,” said Kristin Serrano, COO of kigo footwear. “Supporting Junior Achievement programs that teach the foundation, framework and process to start a business, kigo hopes to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, empowering them to achieve both personal and professional success.”

“Financial support from organizations like kigo enables Junior Achievement to offer its entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy programs to students and schools at no cost,” said Kristi Shaffer, senior vice president of development for Junior Achievement.  “We’re excited to be the December partner and recipient for this great campaign.”

To celebrate and say thank you to its many enthusiastic customers, kigo footwear has created a dedicated page on the company blog, wegokigo.com, to highlight customer testimonials and to provide information about the selected non-profit company. Each of the three weeks in December, kigo footwear will use wegokigo to feature one of the three selected Junior Achievement offices, highlighting their unique efforts to empower young people to own their economic success.
