Providing programming to community organizations

By creating strategic partnerships, JA is able to accomplish more than any one organization ever could alone. A culture of innovation and entrepreneurship has resulted in the development of award winning local programs and events, tailored to meet the community’s unique needs.

Providing leadership opportunities to university students

TIAAThrough the JA College Connect program, presented by TIAA, JA engages college students as JA volunteers through service learning projects. Last year, JA collaborated with nine universities and engaged hundreds of college volunteers in 724 volunteer experiences.  These young adults made a tangible impact on the lives of 9,224 Denver area students.

College students embrace JA as a service learning project and are tremendous role models to elementary and middle school students, showing younger students a more direct connection and path to a higher education and future career. The majority of our college student volunteers share that through JA they:

  • Developed appreciation of diverse backgrounds in the community.
  • Increased their confidence in their ability to make a difference.
  • Further developed their civic engagement and enhanced their sense of civic responsibility.

Through partnerships with organizations large and small, JA volunteers inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy. JA volunteers sharpen their own skills while changing current statistics regarding America’s competitiveness.
