JA National Leadership Summit 2014

Students who participated in JA Be Entrepreneurial and JA Company Program during the 2013/14 school year might be eligible to participate in Junior Achievement’s 2014 National Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., from June 16 to 19.  We would love to have our Colorado students recognized at this prestigious national competition!

The JA National Student Leadership Summit showcases Junior Achievement’s most accomplished teen entrepreneurs. There are two competitions: the JA Company of the Year Competition and National Student Business Plan Challenge.

Junior Achievement student companies vie for JA Company of the Year honors by promoting their products at a trade fair on Capitol Hill and pitching their company to a panel of judges. The National Business Plan Challenge allows individual students to demonstrate their understanding of business fundamentals by developing a business plan, creatively marketing to a target audience, and persuading potential investors during a live pitch.

Students will also get exciting opportunities to take in all the sights and history our nation’s capital has to offer!

If our local students are selected to participate, Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc. will cover the expenses (including airfare) for up to five students and one chaperone for the JA Company of the Year competition and up to two students and a chaperone for the National Student Business Plan Challenge competition.
