Inspiring students to be FutureSmart

On Tuesday, November 10, 2016 more than 2,000 Junior Achievement students will take part in MassMutual’s FutureSmart Challenge at the Pepsi Center.

In partnership with MassMutual and the Denver Nuggets, the FutureSmart Challenge is a financial education program that offers eighth grade students the opportunity to learn about making smart financial choices.  Being FutureSmart is doing well in school, figuring out what you want to do for a career and pursuing your dreams, getting the education and training you need, and knowing and embracing the difference between Smart Money (like saving and opening a bank account) and Dumb Money (like credit card debt).

Students will be taken through an interactive seminar, led by actor and author Hill Harper, where the young leaders will learn about topics such as how education and career choices can impact what they earn.  The goal is to challenge the students to take positive steps toward becoming financial ambassadors for themselves and their communities.
