Partner Profile: FirstBank

JA is grateful to have had a long-standing partnership with FirstBank, a dedicated supporter of our mission to inspire and prepare young people to embrace free enterprise and succeed in a global economy.

FirstBank has raised and contributed over $1.2 million to JA since the 2000/01 school year, making the bank our largest business supporter. In fact, FirstBank is JA’s largest fundraiser through the JA Bowl-A-Thon, with 113 teams raising more than $73,000 for JA last year! FirstBank is also the proud sponsor of the JA Capitalism with a Conscience program, a one-hour program that connects business executives with 1,650 high school students each spring to discuss ethics and values in the workplace. Additionally, more than 500 FirstBank employees have volunteered countless times for JA in the past decade, sharing their knowledge, energy and enthusiasm with more than 40,000 students!  Just this month, FirstBank employees hosted a JA Job Shadow for Lincoln High School freshmen.

FirstBank’s financial and volunteer support is instrumental in helping us educate tomorrow’s entrepreneurs, innovators, workers and leaders. JA is just one of the many non-profit organizations in our community to benefit from FirstBank’s generosity and support. Each year FirstBank contributes millions of dollars and countless volunteer hours to charitable organizations, and recently stepped up to the plate once again as the presenting corporate partner of Colorado Gives Day, which raised $15 million for more than 1,200 nonprofits. Thanks to their FirstBank and our generous supporters, JA raised over $20,000 on December 4th 2012!

Just as JA’s mission is to inspire students to succeed, so too are we perpetually inspired by FirstBank’s commitment to ensure that students in Colorado are financially literate, workforce-ready, and prepared for success in a global economy.
