Nowhere is entrepreneurship more real and exciting for youth than at Denver Startup Week! Surrounded by the buzz of invention and creativity, students meet real-world innovators and learn all about starting a business.
Junior Achievement (JA) and Young Americans Center for Financial Education (YA) partner with Denver Startup Week to offer exclusive opportunities for young people to join the entrepreneurial movement.
Denver Startup Week Youth Pitch Challenge
For the second year, JA and YA co-produced the Youth Pitch Challenge in partnership with Denver Startup Week. A total of four students were selected to pitch their business or business idea to a panel of judges in a live virtual Shark Tank-style competition.
The winner of the Youth Pitch Challenge was Jack Bonneau, for his business, Teen Hustl. Jack gained a guaranteed spot in the semifinals of Denver Startup Week’s Pitch Challenge. From there, he progressed to the finals, where he was one of just six people left in the competition.
In 2019, JA students Melanie Zhou and Mia Hayden battled their way all the way to the top, walking away with the grand prize!
